1967 Singer Chamois engine picture

This car has been with us since around 1994, so we have owned it 18 years, the car did get a full strip down to an empty shell (not bare) and was re sprayed inside and out.

The engine that came with the car was not the original, I rebuilt what we had and did an up grade to a part sport engine specification on the standard Mk2 cylinder head and Mk2 block. The addition of a pair of 125CD Stromberg carbs on a suitable alloy inlet manifold and with a Hartwell performance fabricated small bore manifold, added a very decent amount of usable power.

Note the sports air filter case and the wire brush named oil cooler, the engine later developed a problem with the alloy landing on the top of the block, this required either a welding job or another block, I chose the block change and rebuilt that into the existing parts.

The car is a daily driver and starts first time, runs well, uses no water or oil and is a joy to own and drive. Now on 99,000 miles on the clcck its about to go to zero sometime this year?

What a gem!
