The year 1968 saw Rootes Scotland up date the 1967 Hillman Californian coupe body shell to a far higher specification than any other Imp before or after. The car was re trimed with black ambla vinyl on the seats, the front ones reclined also, the rear seats folded down and were also split, so you could still carry a load on one side and a passenger on the other.
The dash panel was very neat and very special, a proper lockable glove box and a full set of instruments.

There was also a decent three spoke steering wheel to finish the effect off.
