We did of course meet a Spike Milligan at the Killarney Circuit,we spoke as to why he has such a name? Seems that anyone who enters the army with the name Milligan is nick named Spike?
"It was in North Africa, during WWII, as Gunner Milligan, 954024, that Spike
first met Harry Secombe. The circumstances of their meeting were only
narrowly non-fatal. Milligan's 25-pounder gun jumped out of its placement
due to recoil, and ran down the hill narrowly missing another gun unit.
Spike went down the hill and asked, "Has anyone seen a gun?" One of the men
in the other gun unit said, "What colour?" It was Harry Secombe."
See the rest at http://www.telegoons.org/Bios/Bio_SM.htm if you have time
- I found it quite interesting!
Will the real Spike Milligan please stand up? Thats our Spike in the race suit, talking to Eric Wells in the pink shirt.

This just came in from Justin.
This amused me - I was reading a bit on Spike Milligan who has also
interested me one way or another - this from some notes on his biography:"It was in North Africa, during WWII, as Gunner Milligan, 954024, that Spike
first met Harry Secombe. The circumstances of their meeting were only
narrowly non-fatal. Milligan's 25-pounder gun jumped out of its placement
