The date may well be 1968, in that case I saw this car then and also in any following years when David Piper came to Cape Town to race here with his green Ferrari 412P sports car.
The picure is, I believe to date unpublished, it found its way out of a small brown case at a braai the other evening. The topic was the days racing at Killarney Circuit and those races we saw forty years back.

Eric told me that all Ferrari race cars are painted red but David Piper wanted his Ferrari 412P green, its the only one that the colour was changed for he says.
News just in from Eric, can anyone say whats true and what needs correction of this matter?

I may be wrong about my assertion that this was the only non-red Ferrari race car to leave the factory – he also has a green 250LM. He may have painted one, or both, of them but it makes a good story. One must never let the facts mar a good story must one?
