Roys Hillman Imp years

The Hillman Imp, my first car, I had my UK drivers licence at the age of 17, the next thing was to buy a Mk1 Imp. I now realise that with my fifty (50) years of Imp experience, I may have some past tips on the Imp to pass on? Since then there have been many other cars and things with motors in them that have come my way, this blog is about some of them. Hillman Imp copper head gasket

Wills rings have seen the demise of the old solid copper head gasket, I brought one in as a back up anyway.

Seen here and unused in a working motor, I used it to proove a point and that the gasket will work, an expensive exercise I will not got into right now. The gasket cost UK Pounds 45, thats plus 16 postage, so about R730 or so, did we pay an import duty and Vat?

Check the indents,it prooves the bores were gripping the soft copper gasket.

I don't know a ton about copper gaskets, but I know they are super important. We have to replace our exhaust gasket soon, and are considering going with copper. I just hope it's not too expensive.
